PCOS

Here is yet another reason why I need to start living a more healthy lifestyle. My doctor called me yesterday to discuss my test results, which came back positive for polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). As of right now, I am frustrated and scared. This is not a fatal disease but it is a disease nonetheless. Unfortunately, I missed my doctor's call and she left the unsettling news on my voicemail. I have yet to hear from her. From that time until now, I have been researching PCOS online: "there is no cure." "symptoms include infertility." Argh.

So as not to leave this entry on a sour note, here are the things I am thankful for:
1. Anthroholic's blog: Her entries are filled with one of my passions outside of medicine and science--- Anthropology. After studying and work, Kim gives me the opportunity to step out of my reality and into a care free world filled with ruffled skirts, pink chiffon, and polka dot tights.
2. The power of prayer
3. Second chances

Thankful

I am completely starting off on the wrong foot with this lifestyle change. Argh. I've been eating minimal meat (which is a a plus) but have also been scarfing down oreos and other unhealthy snacks. Cha Lynn, snap out of it! Better luck tomorrow.

On a more positive note, I am thankful for...
1. Sleep
2. Wonderful co-workers at the clinic
3. Awkward moments with the boyfriend

Here's to new beginnings!

Since graduating college in 2005, I've gained approximately 20-25lbs. I am honestly tired of the way I look and, quite frankly, I hate what my poor eating and careless decisions have done to my body and self esteem. With EATUITION, I hope to share my journey with all of you. I also plan to share all the positive things in my life by listing at least 3 things I am thankful for daily (a habit I regretfully abandoned 3 years ago). Here's to new beginnings!
